last week I had a break from the fishing but this week I was back and today I’m not coarse or carping, I got the fly rod out and gave it a go for a trout. The lake I fished is called sharpley springs and there’s 7 lakes on complex all stocked with trout, there is some big big trout in there but don’t come out to often. When I arrived ask people fishing and they all said it was hard and unlikely catch, so once again I came at a inconvenient time for fish dam! The fly I used was an egg fly, I’ve had a lot of success using it in the past so its my choice to start of with. My dad used a cats whisker fly and about 20 mins in caught a lovely blue trout only a few pounds. The rest of that session we had nothing but at least I had been out and tried.
