This week I’m back at silks worth and this week I’m using my pole and maggots and hoping for a lovely winter roach, don’t mind if I catch really but its always better than blanking. I fished to the left margin at the end of some pretty lifeless dead reads and very simple rig a small float on bottom with a bulk of shots and a few dropper shots. At the start I cupped out 2 balls of ground bait which was a regular brown crumb mixed a few maggots in. about an hour and a half into the session my elastic whipped away and I was into my first fish of 2011. it was a lovely roach and was in pristine condition. After that I didn’t catch anything else but I was still really happy about catching that one fish.
