Today me and my dad are back at our local lake which is silksworth, today I came with my pole and seat box and in my mind I was hoping for a lovely big roach or rudd or maybe a carp.  The first peg I fished was looking good but I set up got everything out then I seen my dads lead bounce of the water he reeled it in and showed me I was gutted such a nice piece of water and it was frozen so we had to pack back up, then we moved round to the other side of the lake which has a incoming flow of fresh water which prevented it from freezing over.

I wasn’t really happy about fishing this peg because I had fished it once before and never caught but since there was only a few pegs free of ice I picked this one because there are some rushes to the left which looked quite fish friendly.
When I got there I set up my box and pole then mixed my ground bait up adding a few maggots and corn to the ground bait as I mixed, then since I wasn’t that confident I fed two balls of ground bait to get fish feeding and while I let the swim settle. After talking to my dad I came back and put two maggots on the hook and fished for a while but unfortunately I had no fish. About an hour before the end I packed up and moved peg next to my dad and fished the last hour there but still no fish. Even though I didn’t catch I still enjoyed being on the bank enjoying the lake the wildlife and other people.
