20th of February to 22nd of February 2011

Its great finally after two weeks of being ill and last week going for a meal with my family, I am finally back were I belong and this time for a 48 hour session on peg 12 at wellham.
Right so tactics For baits I have went with “sticky baits blood worm” range because carp at wellham are used to that. So for the first day/ night I went with a very simple approach and had a positive attitude because I knew that the approach had worked for me in the past on other waters. On the first rig I had a korda kaptor size 10 wide gape hook and that attached to about 10 inches of 15lb esp ghost fluorocarbon hooklenth and for the lead set up I just used a lead clip system attached to rig tubing, and bait was a 15mm sticky baits bloodworm boilies. On the second rod I went with the same system but used a pop up and the pop up was a sticky baits white chocolate 15mm and to pin that down I used a non-toxic SSG shot each rig is coupled with a pva stick. At about 8:30 my dad caught a 15lb 8 oz common carp and then at about 9:15 on my pop up rig I caught a 10lb 8oz common carp here is my fish.
Then after that we had no more action apart from about 2:15 when I had a run on my pop up rig again but the fish had managed to spit the hook before I could get to my rod. Then the following day we had the odd liners but no fish so for the night i changed my tactics slightly, on my first rig I used a korda kaptor size 10 wide gape hook and that attached to about 10 inches of 15lb esp ghost fluorocarbon hooklenth and for the lead set up I just used a lead clip system attached to rig tubing and for bait a 15mm sticky baits bloodworm boilie topped of with some yellow fake corn. And on the second rig I used a zig about 15 inches with a 15mm pop-up white chocolate boilies. Through the night my dad had one fish at 13lb and I had none but the next day about 8:50 I had a lovely common carp at 12lb 1oz here is the image.
Once I let that fish go I packed up and we went home it was a successful session and I’m well pleased.
